Jakobi Antawn Priester is no stranger to greatness, showcasing a remarkable level of intelligence from an early age. Mastering reading at only one year old, Jakobi has always shown a keen interest in learning everything he can about his passions.

At Stonewall Tell Elementary, Jakobi was identified in kindergarten as being exceptionally bright and was selected to be in the Talented And Gifted Program. Throughout elementary school, Jakobi received multiple awards in each grade for his scholastic achievements.

Advancing in his academic path, Jakobi enrolled at Sandtown Middle School, where he continued to excel academically. During this period, he started to demonstrate his musical abilities by joining the orchestra and playing the cello. Additionally, Jakobi became an active member of the Engineering Club, excelling as a top competitor within the school. He even earned an invitation to participate in a national competition, unfortunately disrupted by Covid-19. Nevertheless, I am confident Jakobi would have came home with the gold!

Jakobi thrived in high school, pushing himself as an Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate student at Westlake High School. Alongside his demanding academic workload, Jakobi assumed the role of cello section leader in the orchestra and took on the lead pianist position in the Jazz Band. These achievements earned him recognition and opportunities to compete annually in the All-State Competition. Furthermore, his skills secured him a spot in the Fulton County Schools Honor Orchestra, where he collaborated with top musicians in the Metro Atlanta Area.

As Jakobi's high school adventure comes  to a close, it’s  prompting me to look back on all his achievements. "Proud" doesn't begin to cover it. I feel privileged to have witnessed Jakobi's incredible transformation. Congratulations, Jakobi, on graduating from Westlake High School in 2024! You mean the world to me!
